Vedanta Oil and Gas is reportedly set to increase investment in its mature Rajasthan oil fields to boost crude output from existing wells. The company plans to invest about $200 million (₹2,000 crore) in 2026-27 across the region.
According to a report in The Economic Times, the investment will focus on the Mangla, Bhagyam and Aishwariya fields in northern Rajasthan. Vedanta aims to arrest natural reservoir decline and improve recovery from producing wells.
The immediate focus is on the Mangla field, whose discovery in 2004 made Barmer India's biggest onshore oil-producing region. Vedanta targets production of more than 150,000 barrels per day (bpd) from Mangla, up from about 80,000 bpd currently.
