Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the India-European Free Trade Association (EFTA) trade and economic partnership agreement is expected to attract $100 billion in investment and create 10 lakh direct jobs in India over the next 15 years, as New Delhi seeks to deepen economic ties with European countries.
Speaking at a joint statement with Swiss Confederation President Guy Parmelin, Modi said Switzerland's support had been important in advancing bilateral relations.
"First of all, I appreciate his commitment to India-Switzerland relations. In October last year, with her personal support, we implemented a historic trade and economic partnership agreement between India and European Free Trade Association," he said.
