Saroj Poddar Group and Keventer are set to launch Bengal’s first real estate-focused alternative investment fund (AIF), targeting up to ₹600 crore from investors as optimism over the new government rekindles interest in the state’s property market. As sponsors, the two groups have committed ₹80 crore in the category-II AIF, which will exclusively invest in residential real estate projects that Poddar and Keventer are developing jointly in Calcutta and Delhi.
“This is the first AIF to come up from Bengal in the real estate sector. We have received good response from family offices, HNIs from Mumbai, Delhi so far. It is a reflection of the interest generated among investors in Bengal’s real estate post the state election,” Mayank Jalan, chairman & managing director of Keventer, said.
